Playa Forti is located near the village of Westpunt, at the northwestern tip of Curaçao, where the road nearly comes to an end and the Caribbean Sea stretches out as far as the eye can see. The beach itself comes as a surprise: dark sand, pebbles and bits of coral replace the fine white sand found elsewhere on the island, a reminder of the coast's volcanic origins.
What makes this spot memorable is the cliff towering over the beach. Jumpers, both locals and travelers, launch themselves from a height of about 10 meters into water that quickly turns deep. The jump draws crowds throughout the day, but it demands caution: you should never attempt it alone, and it's best to first watch the swell and how other jumpers time their leaps before trying it yourself.
At the top of the cliff, a restaurant offers a clear view over the entire Westpunt bay. From your table, you can watch the jumpers in action while enjoying a plate of fresh fish, a habit as popular among locals as it is among curious passersby.
Playa Forti remains a natural stop for anyone exploring the western part of the island, between Playa Grandi and Shete Boka National Park. Here, the atmosphere shifts as soon as you get close to the edge: the joyful shouts, the suspended pause before the jump, then the dull splash echoing against the rock.

Most of the best beaches are at least 45 minutes from Willemstad. Renting a car is not optional.
