  • Blue Bay Beach

    Blue Bay

    About fifteen minutes from Willemstad, near Sint Michiel, Blue Bay is a white sand beach lined with palm trees that's part of the Blue Bay Golf & Beach Resort, but it stays open to day visitors for an entrance fee. Sun loungers, a beach club and on-site restaurants set the scene, while a reef accessible right from shore makes this one of Curaçao's favorite beaches for family snorkeling.

  • Tugboat Beach

    Caracasbaai

    In Caracasbaai, southeast of Willemstad, Tugboat Beach takes its name from a sunken tugboat that now rests just five meters deep, only a few dozen meters from shore. It's one of the island's most popular spots for wreck snorkeling in Curaçao, accessible straight from the pebbles without a boat or diving gear. A modest little beach, but a memorable underwater adventure.

  • Playa Guepi

    Westpunt

    North of Playa Kalki, on the far tip of Curaçao near Westpunt, Playa Gipy (also called Playa Guepi) remains one of the island's few secret beaches that has escaped mass tourism. No facilities, no paved parking, just a dirt track and a walk along the cliffs to reach a small wild cove where turquoise water contrasts with raw rock. A place you earn rather than simply visit.

    Westpunt

    In Westpunt, at the far west end of the island, Playa Piskado, also known as Playa Grandi, is nothing like a postcard beach. It's a pebbly cove where colorful fishing boats share the water with green sea turtles that linger near the pier. A mask and snorkel are all you need to join them, no boat trip or entrance fee required. A simple, genuine encounter with local wildlife, away from the developed beaches of the south coast.

    Banda Abou

    On Curaçao's west coast, in the Banda Abou region, Cas Abao unrolls its ribbon of white sand facing the turquoise water that has earned it a reputation as one of Curaçao's most beautiful beaches. Sun loungers, umbrellas, showers and a beach bar-restaurant set the rhythm of the day, while the nearby reef invites you to snorkel. Access is by car, with an entrance fee per vehicle, for a break that's well worth lingering over.

    Banda Abou

    On Curaçao's west coast, just minutes from the village of Sint Willibrordus, Daaibooi Beach is one of the island's most beloved free beaches. Its calm, sheltered bay, framed by cliffs, invites easy swimming, while the rocks on either side of the cove make for a solid snorkeling spot. Palm-leaf palapas promise welcome shade for an afternoon by the water.

    Westpunt

    In Westpunt, at the northwestern tip of Curaçao, Playa Forti sits at the foot of a cliff that has become legendary for its dizzying jumps into turquoise water that turns deep within just a few meters. The dark sand mixed with pebbles and coral fragments gives this beach a raw character, far from the pristine stretches of the island's south. At the top, a restaurant overlooks the bay and draws locals and visitors alike, all coming to watch the jumpers in action.

    Banda Abou

    On Curaçao's west coast, in the Banda Abou district, Porto Marie unfurls its white sand facing calm turquoise water. There's an entrance fee, but access to the loungers, the bar-restaurant, and above all the famous double reef makes the detour well worth it. Here, diving and snorkeling can be done straight from the shore, and it's not unusual to spot a few pigs wandering along the sand.

    Jan Thiel

    In the southeast of Curaçao, at the end of Caracasbaaiweg, Jan Thiel beach is the island's liveliest gathering spot. Calm water protected by breakwaters, groomed sand, beach clubs and shops line the shore one after another. Between the loungers at Zanzibar, wood-fired pizzas and the easygoing vibe, this is where locals and travelers come to spend the whole day, from breakfast until sunset.

This is where Playa Lagun Curaçao built its reputation as the island's best spot to easily spot sea turtles, no boat or special gear needed.

    Bapor Kibrá

    At Bapor Kibra, right next to the Sea Aquarium, Mambo Beach is Curaçao's liveliest beach, hands down. The boulevard lines up shops, bars and restaurants on two levels, facing water sheltered by a breakwater and perfect for families. By day, it's all about relaxing in peace. By night, especially on weekends, the mood shifts and the sand turns into a dance floor.

    Westpunt

    At the northwestern tip of Curaçao, just below Kura Hulanda Lodge in Westpunt, Playa Kalki is reached via a concrete staircase leading down to a small stretch of pale sand. Here, you don't need to swim far to reach the good stuff: the reef starts just a few meters from shore. It's one of the best snorkeling spots in Curaçao, and one of the most celebrated dive sites on the entire island.
