The day starts at 8 am at Christoffel National Park, in the Westpunt region. The climb up Christoffelberg, Curaçao's highest point, has to be done early: access to the summit trail closes late morning, and the heat soon becomes hard to bear on the rocky sections.
Around 11:15 am, head to Shete Boka park on the island's wild north coast, a few minutes' drive away. The site opens with Boka Tabla, a sea cave where waves crash under a limestone vault. Steps cut into the rock lead down to the edge of the cavern to watch the surf up close.
At 12:45 pm, a short hop to the island's northern tip for Watamula Hole. This hole in the limestone, sometimes called the breath of Curaçao, sprays air and foam with every wave that rushes beneath it.
The afternoon belongs to the beaches of Banda Abou. Around 1:45 pm, make for Grote Knip, one of the best-known white-sand beaches of the west coast, its turquoise water sheltered by a cliff. Swim, linger, stay until the light softens.
The day ends around 5:15 pm at Landhuis Daniel, an eighteenth-century plantation house right on the road back to Willemstad. The restaurant opens in the late afternoon: perfect for dinner without a detour before heading home, your head still full of sea spray.
