Curaçao in November: the Smart Month Before High Season

On paper, November is the rainiest month of the year in Curaçao. In practice, it is one of the smartest times to discover the island: temperatures steady around 29 to 30 degrees Celsius, a sea at 28 degrees, quiet beaches and rates that have not yet started their December climb. If you can live with a few showers, often over before breakfast, November offers a value for money that is hard to beat.

Honest about the weather: showers, but short ones

Let's not dance around it: October to December is the wettest stretch of the year, and November sits at its heart. Everything is relative, though, as we explain in our guide on when to visit Curaçao: tropical showers are usually brief, often fall late at night or in the morning, and quickly give way to sunshine. The island stays outside the hurricane belt, and the trade winds keep the heat very manageable.

The thermometer barely moves: around 29 degrees by day, 26 at night. The sea reaches 28 degrees, its most pleasant temperature of the year for snorkeling and long swims. An unexpected bonus: the rains wake up the vegetation, and the arid landscape turns shades of green you will not see in April.

Fewer crowds, gentler prices

November slips between the European autumn holidays and the year-end festivities. The result: the island breathes. Accommodations still show their low season rates, rental cars book without stress and sought-after restaurants take last minute reservations.

It is also the ideal moment for the west coast coves: at Playa Lagun or Kleine Knip, you can often have the turquoise water almost to yourself on weekdays. The KLM Curaçao Marathon, the late November fixture

Every year at the end of the month, the island laces up for the KLM Curaçao Marathon. The 2026 edition takes place on the weekend of November 28 and 29: a 5K on Saturday, then the marathon, half marathon and 10K on Sunday morning, in the cool early hours. The course crosses Willemstad, takes the floating Queen Emma Bridge and climbs the Juliana Bridge, with the bay below. Registration and details are on the event's official website. Even without a bib, the atmosphere along the route is worth the trip.
