The day starts at 9am at the Curaçao Ostrich Farm, one of the largest ostrich farms outside Africa. The guided tour lets you get up close to these impressive birds and learn how they're raised, an experience that leaves as much of an impression on the parents as on the kids. At 10:45am, head to Serena's Art Factory, just a stone's throw from the farm, for a Chichi figurine painting workshop. This iconic sculpture represents the older sister, a protective figure within the family in local culture. Everyone leaves with their own hand-painted creation, a one-of-a-kind souvenir from Curaçao.
Lunch is at 12:45pm at Pasawá Box Eatery, in Caracasbaai, before heading to Tugboat Beach at 2:15pm for a snorkeling session. What makes this beach special is its tugboat wreck, resting just a few meters deep and reachable straight from the shore, a real treat for families with kids trying snorkeling for the first time.
The day wraps up at 4:30pm with a climb up to Fort Beekenburg, built in the early 18th century, overlooking Caracas Bay. The view from the ramparts is a great chance to look back on the day, from ostriches to paintbrushes to colorful fish.
